The Rockets lose first game under Owen Da Gama

To beef up his technical team, club boss Tim Sukazi, has roped in the services of former Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana striker, Shaun Bartlett, as Da Gama's second-in-command.

Following their 1-0 loss against Chippa United at Mbombela Stadium on Saturday, new TS Galaxy coach, Owen da Gama, said his troops need to start applying all the basics right. Da Gama said this match gave him the time and opportunity to see what areas they need to work on going forward.

“We have to apply all the basics and start defending right from the first whistle to the last, because we can score goals, but if we don’t defend well, we will be punished and we will lose games such as these,” he said. He told Mpumalanga News moments after the game that they are going back to the drawing board to iron out these pressing issues he identified during his first match in charge of The Rockets. “I have a very clear picture now. We just need to rectify our mistakes here and there and I am sure results will start coming. Today, we played very well and could have easily scored a goal or two, but our finishing wasn’t as accurate and sharp as it could have been. This is also one area we are going to thoroughly work on,” continued Da Gama.
