VIDEO: Makhush talks about his new single and upcoming album

He finished his self-produced debut album titled Guardian Angel. He says the sound of the album is Afro-pop with rhythm and blues.

Local Afro-pop sensation Mthobisi Harward Makhushe, popularly known by his stage name Makhush, has released a new single titled “Makoti” and is serenading listeners on the airwaves.
Makhush shot a music video being played on MTV Base, Mzansi Magic Music and TRACE Urban. He finished his self-produced debut album titled Guardian Angel. “The sound of the album is Afro-pop with rhythm and blues. It is ready, although I need a couple more features I am working on. At the moment I’ve recorded a song with Sands and Symphony from eSwatini. However, I don’t want to crowd the album with more features, because I want it to stand out and for people to get to hear my sound. I want it to be about me and not the features. Before I drop the album, I hope to get Kwesta on one of the songs, and then I can release,” he said.
The Mangweni-born sensation pointed out that the album is dedicated to his late mother who passed on in 2008. He said her spirit is always with him and will always be.

“She’s been gone but I feel that she’s never away from me. I feel her presence every day and it doesn’t feel like she’s not physically around. She passed on at a time when I was chosen as an ambassador of sports and music in the country to represent South Africa in the United Kingdom. I performed at various shows in Bellingham and she was not surprised when I was chosen, because she always knew I was going to be a musician. This resembles that, because I’m doing what I’m supposed to be doing.”
