Yoruba Music Mp to release a single

To celebrate Heritage Month, the duo will release a single titled, "Gida (amapiano)" featuring Nobuhle from the Kingdom of eSwatini.

Founders of Yoruba Music Mp, Dj Stammer (Master Mashaba) and Shingofatso Mlotshwa, known as Fatso, are working on their latest album, Africa, to be released before the end of the year.

On stage, the duo use percussionist and guitarist acts to support their DJ. “The album to be released later in the year will also feature a number of local artists, including Gospel Silinda from Hazyview, Sticks from Barberton and others,” said Fatso.

Yoruba Music Mp was formed in 2015 when the two decided to work together as a duo.

The partnership quickly began to yield fruit, earning them airplay on several radio stations, with their music and African beat mix.

“We met through Dj Sidunkero, for whom I was a percussionist playing drums, while Stammer was a producer. Because we both came from Mbombela, we decided to work together,” explained Fatso.

Their breakthrough came with the hit, “Nothing to something”, featuring 2017 SA Idols finalist and a member of JR’s winning choir in Clash of the Choirs, Blessed Mlangeni. Yoruba Music Mp has shared the stage with the likes of Donald, Zano, Babes Wodumo, Dj Tira, Nokwazi and Ligwalagwala FM’s Dj Madumane. Interested in knowing more about them?
