The 20-track double CD features a slew of international and local artists showcasing the versatility of the gospel genius and how his impact is going global.

Dr Tumi’s most ambitious studio project Love on the Cross has already made great strides topping the charts within hours of release on Friday.

It was number one on iTunes in the gospel charts and across all genres. It also trended on social media before its release and many days after.

The 20-track double CD features a slew of international and local artists showcasing the versatility of the gospel genius and how his impact is going global. It has been a long while since gospel music experienced collaborations of this scale.

Legendary US gospel artists and ministers make a vocal presence with Fred Hammond featuring on My Loving Father and Donald Lawrence on Be Free.

Prolific saxophonist, Kirk Whalum adds his touch on Nothing Without You.
The smorgasbord of influences and persuasions continue on songs like Be Still with Motswako rapper Khuli Chana; while R&B crooners Loyiso and Jaziel Brothers are on So I Run and Batshele. Sbu Noah features on Akekho while the opening track Ditheto has Ndlovu Youth Choir. Perhaps the sweetest spot of the album is his duet with his vocalist wife Kgaogelo who goes as Ms KayGee on Did You Know.

The album is a fresh twist to the previous sound and will resonate with the greater gospel audience across the globe. The album is centred around the great commission and calls upon people to look at the cross. It speaks of the love of God as expressed through the sacrifice.

The desire is that all should know that God loves them.
