Gospel greats to grace Mgoma stage

What a way to celebrate success: with two of the best gospel artists.

MBOMBELA – Next Friday two gospel greats, the award-winning duo of Lebo Sekgobela and Martin PK, will be the favourites to entertain during the Mpumalanga Gospel Music Awards (Mgoma) anniversary and celebration that will be held at the Emnotweni Arena.

Rightly, five years ago Sandile Ngobe gave birth to a dream: that local musicians would have an opportunity to be celebrated, and that there will be a platform to create new sounds in the gospel industry. The brand has proven to have stood the test of time and succeeded to attract not only local acts but nationally reputed artists have been an integral part of the annual awards ceremony. The event has continued to attract record crowds, hence this year the night has been dubbed: five years of #higherlevels.

Martin PK comes to Mbombela for the first time. He is a well-known, respected, internationally acclaimed, seasoned worshipper who will perform his glorious sounds for the Mpumalanga gospel community. This man has wowed audiences all over the world and in turn, he is also known as the international award-winning sensation, Mr Super Man.
“We have had five of the most magical years and once more we are inviting gospel lovers from all over the country to come together and sing a new song of celebration, a song of gratitude and in one voice tell the nations of the world just how magnificent the five years have been to the people of Mpumalanga and South Africa as a collective,” said Ngobe.

This year’s Mgoma promises nothing short of giants in the gospel industry as they will also be hosting one of the most refined sisters in the trade who will join them in celebrating the historical contribution that South African women made in 1956 during the fight for the liberation of their people.
Lebo Sekgobela is set to set the stage on fire. She gave South African audiences her famous song, “Lion of Judah”, which she will majestically deliver through a moving performance next Friday, here in Mbombela, to celebrate with the people of the rising sun.

“The internationally acclaimed gospel powerhouse is nothing short of astounding and continues to give us beautiful sounds. She is yet again coming to add value to the stature of Mgoma as we launch our fifth chapter. We are calling all previous artists who have participated in the project since 2014, to come and register for their free entry at the event,” Ngobe concluded.
