Will you stay?
With Ronaldo leaving Real Madrid for Juventus, this presents a head-scratching challenge for his supporters on which team to support next season.
MADRID – On the 10th of July 2018, the Champions league holders Real Madrid announced the transfer of their beloved talisman, Cristiano Ronaldo (33) to Italian powerhouse Juventus.
Reactions to the announcement were mostly positive, with thousands of supporters pouring in their tributes to the Portuguese star’s departure. In the nine years that he spent at Los Blancos, Ronaldo racked up an impressive goal tally by netting a staggering 450 goals in 438 games.
He further added a record 119 assists to solidify his status as one of – if not the- club’s greatest ever player. However, a few sly fans pointed out that Real Madrid may lose a significant portion of their fanbase following Ronaldo’s departure. While, this may be an exaggeration, it didn’t stop a few comedic fans from capitalising on an otherwise sad moment by posting pictures of the team they’ll support next season. Which begs the question for Ronaldo fans; will it be “Hala Madrid!” or “ForzaJuve!” next season?
