L-Tido Ink’s deal with Universal after 10 years of independence
The long-time independent artist finally signed a record deal with the music label and looks to waste no time as he previewed his upcoming single titled I’m Back.
Universal Music Group (UMG) officially welcomed award-winning Hip Hop artist L-Tido to their organization this morning.
Unlike his previous singles, I’m Back is a personal take on his journey from being one of the most prominent independent artists to his aspirations to reach new heights in his career that he has trusted UMG to help him reach.
“I am looking forward to working closely with a strong team on my upcoming releases. We have big plans and I’m excited to see them all come together!”When asked during the press conference why he signed to a major label his response was “After 10 years of doing everything independently, I want to embark on a different journey with this next phase in my career.”

L-Tido’s music career began in 2009 when he self-released, self-marketed and hand-to-hand distributed his mixtape City of Gold. The award winner worked with artists all over Africa, and has been on songs with Banky W, Wizkid and Ice-prince from Nigeria, including Kwesta, Maggz, Cassper Nyovest, Sean Pages, Morale, Veritaz, KO , Stoagie, AKA ,Reason, Da L.E.S and Anatii.
