Dr Tumi searches for backing vocalists

The search is open to male and female vocalists aged between 20 and 35 who live in Gauteng or are able to relocate to the province.

Dr Tumi has launched a special talent search for a new crop of backing vocalists.

In the run-up to his, The Gathering of Worshippers concert to be held on September 1, 2018, at Voortrekker Monument in Pretoria, the gospel genius has offered to use the big stage as a launching pad for new talent.

The search is open to male and female vocalists aged between 20 and 35 who live in Gauteng or are able to relocate to the province. There are nine coveted spots available for various voices.

The auditions will take place at Baseline in Johannesburg on 11 and 12 July 2018.

Hopefuls will be expected to perform one song in front of a panel led by Dr Tumi himself.

The gospel hitmaker has heeded the call to open up the industry to young talent and to create opportunities for musicians who may otherwise never get a chance to show off their talent.

Enthused Dr Tumi: “We all know how difficult it is for doors to open for young people in our country. This is my modest contribution to showcase the talent that may be sitting idle at home and I wish youngsters who have what it takes would jump on this opportunity.

“Who knows, perhaps this is the breakthrough they may have been praying for? So, I’m inviting all to come along and meet me and the team and show us what you have.”
