Miss Mpumalanga to be crowned this weekend

All roads lead to the Crowning Miss Mpumalanga 2018 ceremony today at the AFS Communio Centre in West Acres from 18:00.

MBOMBELA – Proudly sponsored by the Mpumalanga Economic Regulator (MER) and hosted by Mzimari Productions, VVIP and VIP guests will be the centre of attention as they strut their exclusive outfits on the red carpet and mingle with the who’s who of the glitz-and-glamour scene prior to the event.

However, for the rest of the evening, the spotlight will focus on the top 12 finalists who will line up for the last opportunity to convince the judges that they have what it takes to wear the crown.

Unfortunately, only one queen can be crowned on the night, and two runners-up acknowledged. The question on everybody’s lips is: which district or region is likely to clinch the title this time?

In 2011 it went to Mbombela, 2012 Steve Tshwete, 2013 Mkhondo, 2014 Mbombela, 2015 Lekwa, 2016 Mbombela and 2017 it went to Pixley ka Isaka Seme. Where is it headed to this time around because out of seven crowing events, the capital city has been dominating.

The judges say it is anybody’s crown at the moment as the stakes are high and all 12 finalists have proven to be more competitive than previous years. They are all strikingly beautiful and distinctly intelligent, making the judges’ decision tougher than ever.

MER’s CEO, Mr Bheki Mlambo will do the honours of crowning the queen and handing over the keys to her brand-new ambassadorial vehicle as one of the many prizes she will win.

Here are some of the previous winner:

Miss Personality – voted for by the finalists – will also be crowned, including, of course, Miss Photogenic who has been voted for by the general public via SMS. Meanwhile, as all eyes will be glued on the finalists, there will be entertainment galore; Mpumalanga’s own SA Idols winner, Karabo Mogano is among those who will mesmerise the audience with his soulful originals.
