Through the grapevine

For the first time since 1994 a female premier was elected in the province. That gave many the jollies but the praise singing got us worried.

What a busy month March has been!

One would swear that some of you spend too much time with “The People’s Poet”, Mzwakhe Mbuli. We’re just wondering if the honourable madam knows how many “friends” she’s made already or the nicknames she has like “abo Fifiza”, “Fifinaiza” or “Madam Fifi”. Mbombelans are hypocrites!

Weren’t you the ones criticising her for not attending to her previous department’s issues? Suddenly she’s the best thing since sliced bread. Let us leave it right there, we do not want to upset infant politicians, “political analysts” and her frenemies. All we can do is to wish Refilwe Mtsweni all the best!

A certain female MEC made a very immature comment over the weekend about a man who was brutally assaulted by apartheid police in 1986. In her words, “This man was badly beaten by police; he has bad scars all over his back and waist which is bad. Women would know why I say it’s bad.” Let’s just say that was rather unnecessary. Order ma-olady!

Is it the enhancements on TV or is our deputy president all vigorous and shining up there in national government? By the way, he handled his first oral reply in parliament last week like a pro! How we enjoy seeing him free without his boring entourage who hardly ever wanted anybody near him. Very petty! Sithi kini, “How are the Union Buildings offices treating you?’’

Have a blessed weekend and remember this: Sometimes it’s not the people who change, it’s the mask that falls off. May the force be with you!
