Through the grapevine

There were a few hits and misses at the SOPA, but we must give credit where it is due. Not that we did not come across a few curtains and night dresses, but some really pulled out all the stops.

Hello March! We must point out that February was indeed an interesting month. However, the State of the Province Address stands out among all the events. From the fashion to some of the hilarious moments on the red carpet… It was interesting.

Many slayed on the red carpet. Here they are in no particular order:

Gabsile Shabangu – She oozed class, elegance and beauty.
Geraldine Williams – That creation by Angelique Designs looked great on her. We felt her presence.
Thandi Songwe – Need we say more? She’s got this.
Amukelani Gazide – He pulled it off. Nice shoes.
Ncobile Nyarenda and Gugu Nyarenda – They both looked good in red and black with a touch of gold. Traditional wear rocks! Singaphikisani please.
Cleopas Maunye – He came looking all proper and dapper. Nice suit, but it looked kind of tight.
Doreen Mdluli – We loved everything. Her and her hubby looked perfect.
Reginah Mhaule – As usual, she dresses appropriately. In short, simple but elegant.

There are many others who can give themselves a pat on the back for making an effort. It’s sad for some who still think words break a human being, forgetting there are people who don’t take criticism to heart for mainly two reasons; either they learn from their mistakes or they just do not care what is said about them.

At the end of the day, why does it matter if you’re praised or dissed for your outfit? It matters not and definitely does not affect the price of anything. Have a blessed weekend and remember this: Do what you feel in your heart to be right, for you’ll be criticised anyway.

May the force be with you!
