Here is why some people do not celebrate Valentine’s Day
The number of people who don’t believe in Valentine’s Day is increasing.
It is a few days before Valentine’s Day and the question on almost everyone’s mind is: how will you celebrate the day?
Some people celebrate the day because of the pressure they receive from society and some just choose to ignore the day.
According to motivational speaker, Gladys Pule, known as Make Pule, says that the number of people who don’t believe in Valentine’s Day is increasing. “As a result they don’t celebrate it.”

Here are seven reasons why people do not celebrate Valentine’s Day according to Make Pule:1. Historically, celebrating Valentine’s Day is like celebrating the death of St Valentine, which is so illogical
– Some people believe you should never ever celebrate the death of a person, no matter how good that person was.
2. Some people think it is a religious belief
– According to them celebrating it is unethical and unreligious.
3. Celebrating Valentine is a moneymaking strategy for most retail companies
– Commercials and advertisements make it sound like if you don’t shower your lover with gifts on February 14, then you are not expressing your love appropriately.
4. You are not supposed to trot out your affection for everyone to see
– you must do it in small daily acts of warmth and caring.
5. You do not need one specific day to express you love for your loved ones
– Quality in love is that it should be essential for life not something temporary, thus, expression of love can be made 365 days a year.
6. Some people have challenges financially and to them celebrating Valentine’s Day is expensive

– No matter how many flowers, cakes, candies, balloons and presents you buy for your special someone, they will never be satisfied but you shall surely be broke.
