Through the grapevine

Compliments of the new year to all, even those who still hate others for no reason.

Ever thought about what you want to achieve in 2018? Will you still be the same bitter DJ or MC who takes issues to social media but ducks and dives in public places? Will event organisers of Mbombela continue to duplicate events with a poor turnout? There are many questions left unanswered from 2017, but we will let go, for peace’s sake.

Here’s what should be considered in 2018:

• Hanging around ANC members does not necessarily make you a politician, so enough with the bombastic words and phrases you hardly understand.

• This is the year where event organisers need real support. The spirit of free tickets should die. Most of you, especially government employees have the audacity to even ask for VIP tickets.
The nerve! You earn enough, so get used to visiting Computicket from time to time.

• Pageant organisers: The less said about you, the better. Just stay in your lane!

• Can other kids be given a chance to also be MCs this year? It’s really tiring seeing the same faces at events. There are the likes of Mpumi Mbethe who have great voices and others for that matter.

• In 2018 do stop bragging about awards that mean nothing asseblief. Even worse, awanamali.

• Lastly, if you decide to drink Moët and Veuve Clicquot, make sure you know how to pronounce the words. Oh, and try to handle your booze better, we don’t need stories of chikitas or amajita messing on themselves. Not this year!

Wishing you all a successful year filled with joy and happiness. Remember this in 2018: Believe nothing of what you hear and only half of what you see.

May the force be with you!
