Through the grapevine

What a way to begin the first week of December! So much happened. Not all was good, but neither was it bad. Do allow us to talk about what went down during the Mpumalanga Cultural Xperience weekend.

Why do other people force matters so much? No wonder the rich are getting richer and the poor poorer. It’s all the greed and extreme love of money.

The couches and green carpets… or was it grass at the Soulful Xperience at Casambo! Whuuu shem… the less said about some service providers, the better!

Speaking of which, Somizi, who was supposed to MC with Mpumalanga Cultural Xperience showed up late and in a drunken state. He should have not attended the event at all! And what’s with booking Ligwalagwala presenters as MCs? Are there no other people who ooze charisma and the potential to interact with revellers? No offence to anyone, but can others also be given a chance? We have plenty of chikitas and ama mjita with great voices around, hey.

We bumped into a few people at the event, but we must commend Siphephile Kunene from the SABC. What a humble lady! Please teach some of your stuck-up colleagues a thing or two about staying grounded. Yes, we said it!

Anyway, where were the boycotters? Oh, oops! I almost forgot we bumped into one indulging in booze, forgetting he was one of the masters of the squad. Bab’ Nhlabathi, set your priorities straight and decide which side you’re on. Haai ngeke phela! You even exaggerated on how well the show was organised. The power of spirits makes words flow indeed!

Lastly, we must say this year’s show was better, despite a few mishaps. Well done to the Department of Culture, Sport and Recreation. No boycotters formed against you shall prosper even in 2018!

May the force be with you.
