Mbombela United sack coach

Chauke joined Mbombela United early this year one a year contract.

Following their recent lose by 2:0 in the derby match against their provincial rivals Witbank Spurs, Tingwenyama as affectionately known, then decided to part ways with their coach Petrus Chauke.

Chauke joined Mbombela United early this year with a one year contract. Out of the nine matches, he was at the helm so far, he managed to secure at least five victories and lost four games. He left the club in position 4 with 15 points just one-point behind the top Highlands Park who have 16 points.

The chairman of Mbombela United, Oupa Matsebula, confirmed that they have cut ties with Chauke, “We have reached a mutual agreement with the coach, it is not like we woke up and fired him, we had talks which ended up with the decision we took. For now, the technical assistant will take over while we’re busy with the processes of getting a new coach,” he said.

Chauke had been in the development football for a while. Some of the clubs he once coached include Phiva Youngsters, Thabo All Stars, and Sivutsa Stars.
