Comedian Robby Collins set for first performance at Emnotweni

Robby Collins is considered one of the most prominent faces of the new generation of South African comedy. He has performed to some of the biggest comedy audiences in the country, with appearances at The Heavy Weight Comedy Jam, Blacks Only, Kings, and many more.

One of South Africa’s brightest lights in the comedy scene, Robby Collins, will be gracing The Arena stage at Emnotweni on Friday, 24 November 2017. His new show, titled Son of Carol, is set to deliver a night of intense laughter for the Lowvelder audience.

Son of Carol is a hilarious introspection of a young man finding his place in this world. In this show, Robby finds the funny in all the crazy situations a young comedian lands up in. From suffering his first heartbreak at the hands of a taxi driver to getting fit in a kids’ playground, he explores South Africa’s colourful comedy scene.

In 2011 and 2012, he earned well-deserved nominations for Breakthrough Act of the Year at the Comic’s Choice Awards. In 2013, Robby debuted his very own one-man show, That Bushman is Crazy, and since then, has continued rising to the top. “Robby Collins has become one of the brightest and most popular talents in the comedy industry, and we are delighted to be hosting him for the first time in the Lowveld,” comments Nicolette Botha, Marketing Manager at Emnotweni.

Tickets for the show are R120 per person for general seating and available online via the Emnotweni website. Emnotweni Rewards cardholders will receive a discount – starting at 10% – on show tickets. The show starts 20:00.

Son of Carol promises to deliver a night of great, authentic comedy. Definitely not to be missed!
