Through the grapevine

We would like to share our views on the attendance of events and supporting locals. We've noticed how Mbombelans operate and no, it's not on.

Karabo Mogane’s show at Emnotweni was not well attended.  There are some who blamed his marketing team, but that does not change the fact that Mbombela has people with small-town mentalities.

The show started late but at least we were entertained by Nu Soul and Princess Indlovukazi.  Speaking of royalty, we hardly recognised you with your hairdo. It is good to try something new, but your short hair was the one. Anyway, it was a great performance.

Back to Karabo! How do you expect him to be embraced in other places when he does not get support from his own province? Do you think it was a mistake that he won Idols SA? Or is it because he doesn’t ooze sex appeal and doesn’t show off thunder thighs?

We understand everyone has their own preference but let’s show our local brothers and sisters some love. After all, charity begins at home.
Where are the social-media analysts who think they know alles?

When the Mduduzi Manana saga unfolded all his “friends and supporters” defended him but then when he resigned last Saturday they went silent. Let’s not even talk about those who tried to school other kids about diplomatic immunity. Tjoooo!

Y’all should stop telling one another lies at rallies and conferences. Even the premier said many still needed political education to understand the game.  Also take note that social-media platforms are not for the faint-hearted. Ask Sizwe Sama Yende, he can handle all those who criticise him for his book and he does it so calmly. But we all know, where there’s smoke, there’s fire.
