Through the grapevine

The social scene was lit last weekend, to say the least! Friday kicked off with the Vodacom Durban July send-off, hosted by Red Carpet Marketing at Zero13 Lifestyle.

The set-up was great, with entertainment from BluLamp and singer, Princess Indlovukazi, who kept the crowd on their feet and did not disappoint.

However, it is sad to see how petty people can be. It is only the appreciation and support of each other’s events that is needed. Is that too much to ask for? Anyway, we will let you be mara ninomona.
Thank you Mash Malibe Mokgatle for giving us a glimpse of what is to be expected at the Durban July on Saturday. That outfit looked good on you. You were so stylish!

The saying, “ukuhamba ukubona” is actually true, hey. We didn’t know City of Mbombela spokesperson, Joseph Ngala could get down like that. Bhuti, it was evident that you were enjoying yourself and clearly you know good music, kodwa akubenjalo phela even when it comes to media queries neh?
No offence, kuleyondawo.

Moving right along, so the Sunrise Women’s Awards nominees were announced last weekend.
Mmmmm… interesting categories, but we can’t say the same about some of the nominees. We don’t want to name and shame other kids, but all we can do is wish them the best of luck.

Lastly, to our fellow journalists in the province, can you stop abusing Media24’s brand, claiming you work for the company, yet your work is hardly published? This must stop comrades! Rather just say you are a freelancer. Don’t try and be cheesy, because it really makes you look ridiculous, knowing you are lying. Let us keep hustling and one day we will work for national publications.

Till next week, may the force be
with you!
