Acornbush faces acid test

If Acornbush beats Zizwe, they will be the third team from Mpumalanga in the hat when the draw for the last 32 is made in March

Mpumalanga ABC Motsepe League current log leaders, Acornbush United, are one step closer to the Nedbank Cup last 32.
Acornbush will face-off Zizwe United from the Western Cape in the Nedbank Cup Safa level mini-play-offs, to determine the last of the eight teams to qualify for the 2017 edition.
According to a press statement issued, following the Nedbank Cup Safa Level mini play-offs 2016/17 public draw that was held in Cape Town last year, the mini play-offs to determine the last eight teams from Safa to qualify for the 2017 edition, will be held at Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium (previously known as Seisa Ramabodu Stadium) in Bloemfontein, Free State on Saturday January 21.

The participating teams (Acornbush and Zizwe) delegation of 26 per sharing 13 rooms, including officials and a driver will be accommodated at a hotel in Bloemfontein. They will be provided with breakfast and dinner, while the lunch on the day of the match will be served at the stadium.
Both teams will be provided with a set of playing kits, golf shirts and caps at the cost of Safa. It will also subsidise the teams with the amount of R10 per kilometre.
The winner of the match will join eight other teams from Safa level.
The seven other teams that have already qualified are African All Stars from Gauteng, Day FC (Free State), Maribeni United/TTM FC (Limpopo), Eastern Cape Bees (Eastern Cape), Buya Msuthu (North West), United Rovers (SAB League, Northern Cape), KwaDunuza United (Kwa-Zulu Natal).

The eight Safa level teams will then join eight teams from the National First Division (NFD) that have already qualified.
The confirmed NFD clubs are Cape Town All Stars, AmaZulu, FC Cape Town, Mbombela United, Witbank Spurs, Royal Eagles, Jomo Cosmos and Stellenbosch FC.
If Acornbush beats Zizwe, they will be the third team from Mpumalanga in the hat when the draw for the last 32 is made in March.
Teams that have already qualified for the last 32 are guaranteed a cash prize of R100 000.
The Safa level and NFD teams will join 16 other teams from the Premier Soccer League for the last 32 draw in March.
