Idols culminates in a battle of the sexes
The question that ponders in everyone's mind is, who will be victorious?
After weeks of great performances, tension, excitement, tears and anticipation in Idols SA, South Africa decided on Sunday evening that the top two is Noma Khumalo and Thami Shobede.
They will compete for this season’s title. Many, including the judges, have given their predictions as to whose name will be announced as the winner this weekend.
Gareth Cliff proclaimed that Noma deserves her place in the finals. “When you see Zwai Bala on his feet cheering like a fan, you should know you are good baby,” he said. Somizi Mhlongo also said that Thami did a great job on his rendition of Justin Beiber’s “Sorry”. ” Your voice is like a boiled potato with butter.” To which Randall shared similar sentiments, saying Thami’s hard work is a testimony that he has arrived.
Noma mesmerised the crowd with her track, “Want it to feel like it did with you”. Meanwhile, Thami serenaded the ladies with his Afro-soul love jam, “Sthandwa”.
Social media has been abuzz with comments. Thapelo Mogane wrote on Facebook, “Congratulations Noma, I never saw it coming. When God is with you, you defy all odds. Mathlodi Mamakea Makgopela posted, “Most of the girls will vote for Thami because of his looks. I’ll vote for Noma.”

Mpumalanga News also spoke to a few people to get their views. Rise FM’s show host, Kedibone Mkhabela’s money is on Thami. “I have not been watching the show consistently, but I think Thami has the whole package and he has that ‘superstar thing’ going on.”
Past Negroes Manana said, “Both of the contestants are gifted and have mastered the skill of music. You can tell by the energy they put into every performance that they are passionate. May the best one win.”
With only two days left to the finale, which will be broadcast from Carnival City on Sunday, it is definitely the battle of the sexes this year. Voting lines close today at midnight. Be in the know. Vote for your ideal Idols SA star.
