Local dancers showcased their talent at SABC 1's StreetCred dance competition at a studio in Belladonna on Sunday.

MBOMBELA-  The show, which is soon to be aired on television, hit the city in search for the best dancers.

Presenter and musician, Ifani, was impressed with the competitors’ dance moves after Prayer Mongwane, the only female participant, took home the cash prize in the solo category. This second-year law student said she heard about the competition in Polokwane, where she studies.
“I started dancing at the age of 10 and practiced with my cousins. It has always been my goal to master most dance genres, and it has paid off.
I will definitely do much better in the final, where I will incorporate more styles to be more versatile,” said Mongwane, who hails from Bushbuckridge.

The winners in the group category, Undisputed Crew from Matsulu, could not contain their excitement. “This is our first time to participate in a competition and winning makes it even better. Thank you to the StreetCred team for making Mpumlanga a part of their show. We can’t wait to share the stage and compete against the other eight provinces for the title,” said one of the members, Sifiso Nkosi.

The panel of judges comprised dancer Versatyle Prinsloo and two local choreographers, Lady Vee Mamba and Robyn Bond.
