Festival welcomes SA’s most feisty

The eigth Annual Mpumalanga Comes Alive Festival (MPUCA) returns with a bang this year. The weekend-long extravaganza brings you the best entertainment featuring the "it" girls of the music industry.

Fifi Cooper, first lady of Motswako and an award-winning female rapper who broke into the scene in 2010, will be part of the line-up. Originally from the North West, Fifi has always been interested in Hip Hop. She describes herself as a new breed of a tough and talented female rapper.

What would a party be without Babes Wodumo this year? The “Wololo” hit-maker has captured South Africa with her dance moves. She is no stranger, as Babes shot to fame when she featured in Big Nuz’s music video. Lately the Durban-born singer and dancer has been trending on social media, not only because she is sizzling hot but for her engagement to Mapintsha (Big Nuz).

Ligwalagwala FM personalities will host the events for the weekend. The afternoon drive show host Shabbisto, fresh and energetic Willie Da Voice, sultry fashionista KhayaAngel, Lungile Mhango and Sweetmike are also part of the line-up.

According to co-founder of MPUCA, Thabo Sekele, the event will offer an opportunity for aspiring artists in Mpumalanga, which is an important mechanism to stay in touch with the evolving techniques and trends of the broader music industry.
“The line-up is a fusion of local and national artists. We thought it was high time the brand stood on its own, as we have ambitions to take it to greater heights as a product of Mpumalanga,” Sekele said.
