It’s getting tougher for Tingwenyama

The home side will be boosted with the return of Sikhetsele Mabuza and Bheki Maliba. Tickets are available at Chesa Nyama in KaNyamazane Shopping Complex at R20 for adults and R10 for kids.

After causing heartache for many teams at the National First Division (NFD) during their maiden season, Mbombela United are finding the going getting tougher.

Tingwenyama succumbed to their second-away defeat to rookies, Real Kings on Saturday when they went down 2-1 at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium. Zambian’ Clifford Mulenga came off the bench to score an equaliser before the KwaZulu-Natal side snatched a winner later in the second half.

The loss to Kings was Tingwenyama’s second defeat of the season after three games. They lost their first match in Cape Town to Santos FC with the very same score of 2-1 in their opening game.

Now the local side will have to work hard to do well in their remaining fixtures, that is if they are still ambitious on gaining automatic promotion to the Absa Premiership or have any chance of qualifying for the PSL/NFD promotion/relegation play-offs at the end of the season next April.

Sostern Gutsa, United spokes-person said the whole team were not happy. “Everyone in the team is not happy with the poor start. The field (against Real Kings) was slippery and flooded. That affected our play and the movement of the ball, but we are now focusing on our next match,” said Gutsa.

Tingwenyama hope to return to their winning ways when they host one side which featured in the PSL League, Thanda Royal Zulu.

The game will take place at KaNyamazane Stadium and kick-off is at 15:00. Last season, the two sides played to a thrilling 3-all draw before Tingwenyama went on to beat Amabhubezi 1-0 at their home venue, through a solitary strike by Thsedio Patjie.

Tingwenyama, are currently perched in position nine with three points after three games, will be pinning their hopes in the troublesome forwards of Siyethemba Mnguni and Siyambonga Madikane.
Bonakele Mngomezulu, provided he is fit and selected, has proved that he is creative in the middle of the park and can win the home side while the experience of Mulenga will be vital in Saturday’s game.

Sikhumbuzo “Senzo” Khuzwayo has proved that head coach, Mandla Mkhatshwa, can rely on him as the first-choice keeper since the departure of Thuto Qaba.

The home side will be boosted with the return of Sikhetsele Mabuza and Bheki Maliba. Tickets are available at Chesa Nyama in KaNyamazane Shopping Complex at R20 for adults and R10 for kids. They will also be sold at the gate.
