Preparations for the table tennis provincial summer games, which will be held on September 17 at Ermelo Sports Inn are underway.

Various clubs from the Ehlanzeni, Bohlabela and Gert Sibande district are already in camp, training.
The coach of the KaNyamazane Table Tennis Club which will represent Ehlanzeni at the provincial games, Sifiso Mlombo, stated the club was eager for a gold medal.

“The standard of the competition is very high, we need to start training early.
“As part of ensuring the players stay fit and get a chance to polish their skills, we normally hold training sessions on weekends at Sitintile Secondary School, where they compete against other players from Nkomazi,” said Mlombo.

He added that, even though they have been in the game for quite sometime, they were still struggling to find sponsors.

“Although we don’t have a good facility that is user-friendly, the team spirit has boosted my confidence that we may return with a gold medal. Come what might, we are ready,” he added.
At the provincial summer games, players who excel will be selected for the provincial team to represent Mpumalanga at national level.
