Crown your gospel favourite artist

Nominations for this year's ninth SABC Crown Gospel Music Awards are now open.

Nominations for this year’s ninth SABC Crown Gospel Music Awards are now open. This year three more categories have been added, namely the Best Traditional Gospel Album, Best Gospel are Song, and the Salt Award, which was only bestowed on an individual as earmarked by the panel of judges.

Founder of the Crown Awards, Zanele Mbokazi says this year’s event promises to bring about unknown and untapped talent and as a norm, the audience will be dancing to popular tunes from their favourite artists. “The Crowns will precede with a Christian Expo from November 25 to 27, whereby Christian-related items will be exhibited.”

Mbokazi also mentions that the aim is to surpass what South Africans witnessed last year. “It was a success, especially with the accomplishment of the that were held in May which saw artists from different countries in Africa sharing the stage. The level for 2016 has been pushed to new heights and it is nothing short of a new beginning,” says Mbokazi.

The main event will be held on November 27 at Durban’s International Convention Centre. Nomination forms are available on www.theafricangospel.com.
