Editor’s voice: It is worthwhile to celebrate our origins

My honest plea to our government is to preserve these heritage sites and vigorously market them worldwide.

Today is spring day. It is also the beginning of heritage and tourism month.

It is worthwhile to celebrate our origins as human beings and take pride in our cultural values. This month we should take the time to visit our heritage sites, and get to know distinctly what a pleasure it is to view God’s Window in Graskop.

This is one special place, in my mind it truly reflects the wonders of God’s work as you are able to feel the inner connection with our Creator.

The potholes are another wonder, with the crystal-clear water down below. It is also complimented by The Three Rondavels, which is a Godly creation on its own.

My honest plea to our government is to preserve these heritage sites and vigorously market them worldwide.
These places have been neglected for a long time now, and this is where the government can raise much revenue. Family outings are important and it is the governments responsibility to ensure that these sites are in a good condition, and are safe to be visited at all times.

I am sure you have noticed that our newspaper has been transformed and is now more reader friendly.
We have undertaken these steps to give you a quality product which speaks about the movers and shakers in our communities. It is a product that will motivate every member of society to emulate one another’s good deeds.

We will be telling you about places of interest in your vicinity, which plays an important role in contributing to societal development. We want to present good role models, especially for our youth.

We will still have our hard and community news. I am proud to introduce, once again, my team which has been bolstered by the return of Lungile Dube to the stable.

This is a journalist who we developed from scratch, and she has returned to carry out our mandate of giving you a good read each week. Part of our team is also Thobile Mlangeni, Richard Nkosi, Phumla Nkalanga, Yoliswa Hlatshwayo and Bonisile Khoza.

I hope you will give them much cooperation in their daily duties because our mandate is one: offering you a quality newspaper that is destined to change your lives for the better. Enjoy our product and keep on buying newspapers.
