Bafana ready for sweet revenge

Mthuthuzeli Qamba of Mbombela Stadium management says they are expecting the ticket sales to pick up today.

Bafana Bafana will be looking to continue their unbeaten run at Mbombela Stadium tomorrow when they host Mauritania.

The 2017 Gabon African Cup of Nations qualifiers encounter will kick off at 19:05. Bafana have not lost any of their seven games they have played so far here in Mpumalanga.

The Ephraim “Shakes” Mashaba-led side will also be looking to avenge the 3-1 defeat they suffered against Mauritania last year in September.

This loss in an away game derailed Bafana’s chances in the qualifiers.

They tried to rescue the mission with two credible draws against Cameroon and a convincing win over Gambia, but the damage had already been done.

Bafana arrived in Mpumalanga on Monday. They held their first training session at KaNyamazane Stadium on Tuesday morning.

Keegan Dolly watched the training from the sideline after he was rested following a hamstring injury.

Belgium-based Andile Jali also arrived during the training session and had to watch his teammates training.

Today they will hold their last training session at Mbombela Stadium at 16:00 before taking on Mauritania in a dead rubber tomorrow.

Mthuthuzeli Qamba of Mbombela Stadium management says they are expecting the ticket sales to pick up today.

“Most people got paid yesterday and we are expecting the sales to improve today. Mpumalanga fans love soccer and we are expecting a decent crowd tomorrow,” he said.

Tickets for the match are on sale at R50 and can be purchased at Computicket, Shoprite and Checkers countrywide.
