Rothman did not see #SAMA22 nomination coming

“It came as a huge surprise to me. I wasn’t expecting it at all. I was seriously blown away."

With the South African Music Awards (SAMAs) looming, nominees are starting to feel the chills in their spines, and Loki Rothman is one of them.

Nominated for Best Pop Album, Rothman says he was taken aback by this gesture and didn’t see it coming.

“It came as a huge surprise to me. I wasn’t expecting it at all. I was seriously blown away. The 10-track album titled “The Way Back” is a combination of pop, acoustic and electronic music,” said Rothman.

Having worked with Jack Parrow’s producer, Rothman says this has been quite an experience for him. The nomination of his album is also a great honor to him and a win will just be a bonus.

“I’m looking forward to the main event on Saturday, having my album nominated for such a huge category is an honor on its own, winning it would be a bonus. May the best album take it home,” he added.

Loki’s love for acoustic music is evident through his You Tube covers of Justin Bieber’s Sorry, Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars, to mention but a few.
