Radio host creates the mood on Sundays

Sundays are not just any day to him, and he makes sure to set the mood for his listeners as well.

Good music has the ability to lift one’s mood and make you feel good instantly, and Fanie Ndzinisa knows and understands that very well. Affectionately known to his listeners as Sihlabani saka Ndzinisa, this young man has made a huge mark on radio and his work speaks for him.
“I have been on radio for 15 years now, but I never get used to it, it feels new every time. It’s the kind of love you can’t get enough of. I started off at BCR FM in 2001, and moved to Ligwalagwala FM in 2003.

“It has since been an exciting journey for me, full of excitement and beautiful lessons. I have moved through the different time slots, but now broadcast on weekends. I’m on air from Friday to Sunday, for the 09:30 to 12:00 slots,” said Ndzinisa.
Sundays are not just any day to him, and he makes sure to set the mood for his listeners as well.
“Sundays are very special days, they set the tone for the week ahead. It is important for one to relax and listen to good music with the people they love. I introduced and pioneered the spirit of Sunday Chillas Sessions through soul music.
“The quality of the music never gets old. I won’t even begin to talk about the lyrics, they just penetrate straight to one’s heart, making it all sentimental.

“That’s what Sundays should be about,” he added.
According to this ecstatic presenter, the music is not just something he plays on air; it’s also something that he resonates with even in his personal space.
“Teddy Pendergrass, Kenny Rogers, and All for One, are but some of the artists who dominate my playlist for obvious reasons. They are just the crème de la crème of the whole thing.

“I spend almost all of my Sunday afternoons playing live for people somewhere, setting the mood straight so we can all enjoy this life. My listeners are well aware of how I put them first, hence I came up with a strategy of not talking too much on radio. It’s about them and the music.”
