Papa Ndu releases album of international standard

Having listened to the album, we can attest to its standard being one that an international audience would approve of.

Ndumiso Manana, affectionately known as Papa Ndu, has given gospel music in the province a whole new meaning, for the better. His latest contribution, My Heart Expressions, the songwriter’s offering, has defied the odds and proved that one does not have to be a singer to release an album.

Papa Ndu is a keyboard player and a songwriter, he got his friends in the industry to do the singing for him. The album features huge names ranging from Tebello Sukwene, Redeemed, Neyi Zimu, Putuma Tiso, and Ayo Solanke, to mention but a few.

“These are songs I’ve been writing for a long time now, some of them date as far back as 1997. I’ve written songs for most of the featured artists before, but I just wanted to put something together to showcase the writing ability God had given me. The album is a mixture of traditional sounds with contemporary and jazz. Everyone is indeed catered for,” said Papa Ndu.

Having listened to the album, we can attest to its standard being one that an international audience would approve of.

“This is a live studio project, which we launched in December, the launch was so great and the demand is really there. The DVD will be released later in the year, so that we give the CD some time to enjoy on the shelves.”

Although reputable names were featured, local artists were not left out of the project. Paul “Mervas” Nkosi, Lerato Mothapo, and S’phiwe Matsebula were some of the local artists who joined.

“My initial passion lies in developing local artists and their talents. I just wanted them to share the stage with people they
held highly, that in its own served as motivation – it is something they will cherish for a long time,” he added.

This beautifully packaged offering will be available in stores in March, for those who understandably cannot wait, they can contact Papa Ndu directly on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram at “Papa Ndu”. Or alternatively, call him on 078-688-0050, R100 for a copy.
