The Lowveld’s premier entertainment destination, Emnotweni, is preparing to host platinum selling superstar Elvis Blue, live on stage on the eve of Valentine’s Day.

“We are proud to be showcasing Elvis’ diverse talent on our stage.

Not only a perfect opportunity for an early Valentine’s gift to treat a loved one, but families can also enjoy an evening with him and get a pre-dinner at the Explorers Restaurant or the GlassBar ”says Dennis de Beer, Emnotweni General Manager.

Elvis started his career by creating music with a guitar he bought and learnt how to play online.

During his high schooling, he played in various bands and later serenaded audiences on the streets of London and Scotland.

He studied contemporary music at Allenby Campus, focusing on piano, guitar, singing and song writing.

Soon after, he recorded his first album in 2001 and performed and collaborated alongside Just Ginger, Karen Zoid, Heinz Winkler, Tree 63, Coenie de Villiers and John Ellis.

In 2010, Elvis took part in the 6th season of the reality show, South African Idols and was announced the winner at the season’s finale.

To date, he has recorded and released 7 albums – 2 of which reached platinum status.

Elvis’ self-titled album, Elvis Blue, was released in November 2010 and received gold status 28 days after its release.

The album went platinum in 2011, making Elvis the first South African Idol to have ever released a platinum-selling debut album, according to Universal Music.

The popular musician has audiences captivated with original songs like Things My Father Said, Lighthouse or Save Me, as well as covers like Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah.

The show is set to start at 19:00 and tickets, available through Computicket, from R120 per person.

Emnotweni cardholders receive up to 15% discount on tickets and a cash bar will be available.
