The new Voice is going commercial on RISE fm

The voice of radio has gotten a new meaning, and it is brought forth by The Voice, from Rise FM. We had coffee with him, and spoke about a lot of sweet nothings.

1. Where were you born?
I was born in northern KZN, in a place called Empageni
2. Previously with UJ Fm, now Rise FM – any difference between community and commercial radio?
I must say there is a difference; I mean things are more serious in commercial radio. You have to watch what you say because it might just come back to bite you, unlike like community almost everything goes.
3. You hold one of the prime slots, 12:00 till 15:00, what preparation goes into that show?
A lot of preparation, every day I make sure that I am at the studio an hour and
30 minutes before the show to finalise my prep and also go through the work with my bosses before I go on air. I am also just constantly observing, because you want to make sure that you are in touch with your listener.
4. You have just arrived in Mpumalanga, have you travelled around to see this beautiful province and where have you been, if I may ask?
Yeah, I’ve actually been around Nkomazi, Witbank, Malelane, Bethal and also many places around Mbombela … and I must say it is so different to that which I am used to coming from Durban and Jhb but I love it!
5. Is Voice single? (This question has nothing to do with the writer)
Hahaha, I saw that question coming … let’s just say Voice could be available!!!
6. Besides MCing various gigs and doing voiceovers, any other talent that we don’t know of?
Yeah, I’ve got a thing for live music – I actually play drums … so if I get the chance I drum at times.
7. Your real name is Ntobeko Mabika, where does “Voice” come from then?
It was a name given to me by friends when I had just moved to Jhb because I had a deep voice compared to my peers. They
started calling me Voice all the time and then it just stuck … it even made more sense when I got into radio.
8. Where you see the Voice brand in five years?
I even get goosebumps when I think of that … I see this brand becoming the biggest thing ever to grace our entertainment industry … let’s just leave it there for now.
9. Every man has a crush on someone, who is your latest crush?
*Lol* it must be Zizo Bheda from Selimathunzi … it’s a pity she’ll be married soon and not with me … hahahaha.
10. Lastly, where is Voice contactable on … or how can people book you?
