Home team ready to reap rich reward

Even though they suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of the Limpopo based, Baroka FC this past Sunday, the home team is hopeful of better results to come, especially when playing at home.

Following their successful opener against Thanda Royal Zulu at the KaNyamazane Stadium, the home team, Mbombela United is looking forward to yet another huge turnover when they host the Emalahleni-based Witbank Spurs next Sunday, September 13.

Currently on position 11 after two games, with one point, Tingwenyama will certainly be looking to make their presence felt in the National First Division, just like they dominated the ABC Motsepe League.

Even though they suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of the Limpopo based, Baroka FC this past Sunday, the home team is hopeful of better results to come, especially when playing at home.

Speaking to the team’s marketing and communications head, Sostern Gutsa, the team is currently playing good football and this was witnessed when they scored three goals in their opening campaign against Thanda Royal Zulu.

“The team will get better than this and I can promise all our supporters that they will not be disappointed,” he said.

“I would like to invite our supporters and all soccer loving people of the Lowveld to come and support the team, especially whenever we play at home,” Gutsa continued. He also announced some good news for the team’s supporters.

“Since we are building a professional soccer brand, we are busy setting up membership cards for our supporters.

These cards will come with huge benefits such as discounted home games entry and transportation to away fixtures,” he said.

According to the Premier Soccer League rules that also governs the NFD, there should be an entrance fee charged for all official matches as it is currently the case with Mbombela United.

“Our supporters and the general public are used to not paying, but that was when we were still in the ABC Motsepe League, but now the PSL laws require us to charge an entrance fee to avoid cases of stampede and other unforeseen incidences.

But we have made life easier for our supporters because we are currently selling tickets for a mere R10.

But, in time, this amount will increase to R20, but just like we said before, there would be discount for card-carrying supporters,” explained Gutsa.
