One of the biggest and most star-studded gospel music shows is headed for the Mbombela Stadium on September 5, thanks to Big Fish Productions.
Announcing the forthcoming “Peace and Unity” shows, Siphon Mkhabane himself came to our offices, full of life great oomph, said: “My friend, this one of the biggest shows ever in the South African gospel history, having all gospel outfits under one roof, right at your doorstep, Mbombela Stadium.”There’s provision for all gospel genres required by gospel lovers in the Lowveld region of Mpumalanga.
As a worshipping province, this is a good time to appeal for peace and unity, especially on these xenophobic attacks that have been taking place all over the country.
“We will declare, in unison as gospel musicians, that enough is enough. Let peace prevail on this land. Mpumalanga is bordered by two foreign countries, Swaziland and Mozambique whose citizens we live with in our areas.
We want, through this festival, to pray and appeal for love, peace and unity, most importantly on the day,” explained Makhabane.The line-up, according Makhabane, features the who is who in gospel circles including our very own Queen of Gospel, Rebecca Malope, originating from Kanyamazane.
Our old guard, Masibuyele Ku Jehovah will be there and the evergreen Donny.Have you ever had in Mpumalanga, the likes of Sechaba and Keke together in the same festival? Certainly never, but Big Fish has made it possible as you’ll be having them dazzling on the stage that very day.
There will also be Thina Zungu, Thobekile, Leandri, Frans Dlamini, Nduduzo, Sphiwe and internationally-acclaimed group, Joyous Celebration.”That’s it folks, it’s all on the table.
