“After the success of the original team, we decided to retain all current team members with the launch of our fresh #NewLineUp, and have repositioned them to where we feel they will be most effective taking their respective shows to new heights,” said the consumer marketing manager, Celani Dube.

The station’s striving for excellence seems to be prevalent as it has also secured names that adds wisdom and expertise to the industry, with effect from July 1.

“We introduce Rise FM’s new Breakfast Show host, Makhosi Nkosi, with over 15 years’ radio experience who has worked for stations such as East Coast Radio in Kwazulu-Natal and, more recently, 702 Talk Radio.

Former UJ FM’s Ntobeko ‘The Voice’ Mabika, joins us as host for Daytimes, following his debut on the Early Mornings. While Chris Mfeka, rejoins the family as Weekend Breakfast Show host after a brief stint at the launch back in 2014.

Charmaine Zulu follows Chris with the Weekend Experience, she hails from Nkomazi’s only community radio station, Nkomazi FM,” he added.

According to Dube, it has also included fresh talent in the line-up. “Sibongile Pilsen will break Weekend Early Mornings, while fresh talent from KaNyamazane, Sibo, who has grown substantially is showing great promise with her easy and confident delivery.”

Listeners would be glad to know that their favourite acts are here to stay.

“These additions complete the hashtag #NewLineUp, which sees JT taking over the new Mid-Morning Show, and Thebigzill moving back to his original Drive Home show in the afternoons.

He will be followed by Mfundo Sibanyoni with Rise FM in 60 Minutes between 18:00 and 19:00.” Lilly Makofane takes back Rise FM evenings, and Cheeseboy completes the day’s line-up before Musa Ndlovu starts the new day.
