Revellers to say no xenophobia

Mozambique's greatest, such as Zico, Mr Bow, South Africa's own General Muzka, the "Hekele Heke" hit maker, Joe Shirimani, President Benny Mayengani, and Swaziland's Nomalungelo Dladla, and DJ Magubane, will be in attendance.

Mpumalanga has been commended for being one of the provinces which has not partaken in the latest xenophobic attacks that plagued South Africa.

Being a municipality which connects to two different countries, Nkomazi has been praised for treating foreigners well, and what better way to celebrate than coming together in song and dance.

African Youth Unite Against Xenophobia Music Festival is where artists and fans from three countries unite in one voice.

“When the youth comes together in one voice, things change. We want to condemn the xenophobic attacks, while we listen to good music from the three different countries. Swaziland and Mozambique are home to all of us too, the attacks are unjustifiable and we will not tolerate them,” said Elphius Mathebula, event organiser.

Great artists such as Mi Casa, KO, Big Nuz and many more will join in celebrating the day.

“We have Mozambique’s greatest, such as Zico, Mr Bow, South Africa’s own General Muzka, the “Hekele Heke” hit maker, Joe Shirimani, President Benny Mayengani, and Swaziland’s Nomalungelo Dladla,
and DJ Magubane.

“We have artists from different spectrums to cater for the different tastes in music,” he added.

The event will be hosted at Driekoppies Dam in Nkomazi, and ticket prices start from R120, R500 for VIPs, and VVIP costs R1 000. It starts at 14:00 on June 13, all through to the following day. Tickets are available at Computicket.
