Following impressive victories by top of the ABC Motsepe League, Mbombela United and their arch-rivals, second-placed Phiva Young Stars, at KaNyamazane Stadium this past weekend, these two have another shot at increasing their points on the table when they are both in action this Saturday.

Following impressive victories by top of the ABC Motsepe League, Mbombela United and their arch-rivals, second-placed Phiva Young Stars, at KaNyamazane Stadium this past weekend, these two have another shot at increasing their points on the table when they are both in action this Saturday.

With the season nearing its end, both teams find themselves in need of maximum points whenever in action.

The log leaders, Mbombela United will visit Forek Academy at the KaBokweni Stadium, while Young Stars will be at home hosting Apollo XI at the KaMhlushwa Stadium.

Both fixtures start at 15:00. Of their remaining fixtures, Mbombela United’s only threats are Forek Academy and Phiva Young Stars.

On the other hand, all of Phiva Young Stars’ remaining games are tricky as they still have to play, Apollo XI, Emzinoni All Stars, East High Academy and Mbombela United.

Mbombela United’s weekend 3-1 victory over Mhluzi Black Rangers saw them increasing their lead at the top of the table to
67 points.

While, Phiva Young Stars also increased their points to 57, trailing 10 points behind Mbombela United. It is important to note that Young Stars have two games in hand, which can be translated to six points, but only if they win those games.
