ANCYL hails crowning of new queen

According to them, the event has earned this province much recognition because the whole country and social-media platforms were abuzz about it

MBOMBELA –  Last week’s successful hosting of the Miss Mpumalanga pageant, in which Ms Zamanene Nene was crowned Miss Mpumalanga 2015/16, has made the province proud, ANC Youth League (Ancyl) provincial chairperson, Mr Desmond Moela said.

“We are very proud that our very own young people from the province have the abilities to organise an event of such high quality.

This is indeed a proud moment for the province as this has proved that our beautiful province is capable of hosting world-class events and that we can shine when given the opportunity.

This event has earned this province much recognition because the whole country and social-media platforms were abuzz about it,” said Moela.

He congratulated Nene for winning the coveted crown, saying that she deserved it and worked hard for it. He said he was confident Nene would execute her duties well.

“I am confident that she will represent the aspirations of all young people in the province regardless of colour, gender or creed.

I am also confident that she will represent the Mpumalanga Gambling Board’s illegal and responsible gambling campaigns and the provincial government’s HIV/Aids programmes,” Moela went on.

He said the Ancyl has always been at the forefront of youth empowerment and therefore believes that the hosting of Miss Mpumalanga was a right step towards realising the youth league’s goal.

“What also excites us is the fact that this brand is maturing with time. We have seen the title changing hands and rotating to all the regions of the province, which is an indication that there is great talent throughout the province,” Moela pointed out.
