Album promises to inspire

Titled By fire by force, the album will definitely restore your hope and awaken your inner faith.

Local Gospel singer, Sfiso Shongwe, affectionately known as Sfiso S, is back with a brand-new album and it has taken the market by storm.

Titled By fire by force, the album will definitely restore your hope and awaken your inner faith.

“The album was recorded in December and released in January. It has since sold over 7 000 copies and the demand is increasing daily.

I’m really overwhelmed by the response I am receiving from Mpumalanga and Swaziland, it’s humbling,” Shongwe.

The testimony behind the lead single is enough to bring hope to anyone listening to it. According to Sfiso, the album was scheduled to be recorded in November, but God had other plans for him.

“Everything was in place, even the studio was paid upfront for the recording. It was during the recording when I received a call from the studio owner instructing me to leave the premises, I asked for a refund since I did not get to use the studio, and he refused.

I didn’t want to cause too much commotion, I just left the studio and the money and had to look for another studio,” he said.

“As if that was not enough, I was robbed off my BMW by a certain pastor after we exchanged cars because I wanted to go to Johannesburg for a gig.

He fraudulently changed the ownership to his name. It was a tough month for me, it felt like a year,” he added. Sfiso relocated to Johannesburg after realizing that things had taken a turn this side, but it seemed he poured gasoline on fire.

“I went to Joburg with hopes of starting over after my misfortunes, little did I know that it would be like rubbing salt on an open wound.

I stayed with a friend of mine, after I had bought furniture and settled, I decided to visit home for a day or two.

When I went back to Jozi, I found that my friend had sold all my furniture for money. I was shattered, I could not believe it, I had to come back home.

“I came back and the Lord told me to rework on the album, I went to loan sharks for the money to make the album.

That’s how I got to make the By Fire By Force single, it is very sentimental,” he said.
Sfiso says since he wasn’t killed by this ordeal, he was made stronger and he was ready for the greater heights.

“For now, the CD can be obtained during my outdoor outreaches and church visits, but we are hoping to have it distributed in stores soon for the convenience of the people,” he concluded. Enquiries: 073-325-3115.
