Boxing may soon find a home in this province again.
This is according to the former boxing champ, Laurence Ngobeni, who says this province is among the best with regard to producing best boxers.
Gauteng and the Eastern Cape are some of the best boxing provinces in the country.
“Boxing enthusiasts and up and coming boxers were discouraged to participate in this sport because there were no activities or boxing tournaments.
This time around, we want to help organise this sport in a more formal manner and stage official boxing matches, so that people who are involved in this sport are given an opportunity to showcase their talent,” says Ngobeni.
He also adds as a way of ensuring that the sport moves to another level, they would soon host monthly tournaments.
He states that in Ogies, there are a number of decent and user-friendly boxing rings.
“We are planning to host monthly tournaments so that we can get sponsorships,” he concluded.
