Celebrate womanhood
It's almost time for the Spar Grove Ladies Race hosted by Legogote Village early in February.
It will be the third time this race takes place and the organisers hope to see at least 400 female participants on Febuary 7. It will begin at 06:00 and is an out and back race starting and finishing outside SPAR. The route is relatively fast and flat with a few gradual climbs. Important to note that this year is strictly for ladies only, no men will be allowed to enter, even if they dress as ladies. “We are appealing to all women and young girls to join us to celebrate womanhood by running or walking the five kilometre or 10 kilometre race,” said Janine Bethwaite of Legogote.
Entry fees: 10 kilometre – R50, 5 kilometre – R20
All entries will be taken at the start of race day from 04:30. There are lots of spot prizes and winners will receive a medal.
