The much-awaited Generations retro will soon make a great return to the 20:00 slot, forcing Skeem Saam to make way – it took over the slot when the soapie was canned on September 30.
“Generations has since been on a break for reasons known to many of us. I can confirm that it will be back on air in its regular slot on December 1,” said Philip Mabitsela, publicist for SABC 1.
He said Skeem Saam did very well on the prime-time slot and robbed the competition of a million viewers. “Although it would never replace Generations, it broke the seven million mark and that is something to be proud of,” he said.
Asked who would be in the new Generations cast, Mabitsela said the television channel had not yet officially released the names and anything else doing rounds at the moment was nothing, but hearsay.
“We will release the names on December 1, everything else is just a rumour. But I can promise viewers that the new show is new and although we don’t yet know anything about the script, we can tell you it will be interesting.
The team is in the studio, cooking up a storm for our viewers.”
