Sdumza represents community radios

The dedication and commitment that he has shown since he joined the station afforded him the nomination as a best community radio DJ on the Satmas.

BARBERTON – “Bringing the trophy home will be a good present for the station as on November 1 we will be celebrating 13 years of broadcasting,” said local radio station presenter, Daniel Nkosi, known to his listeners as DJ Sdumza.

He has been nominated in the South African Traditional Music Awards (Satma).

Mpumalanga News learnt that Nkosi’s breakthrough in the media industry came in 2003 after he joined Bushbuckridge Community Radio and later in 2007 he joined BCR FM (Barberton Community Radio).

That is where he branded himself in his maskandi music show called Sina Africa aired on Saturdays from 13:30 to 15:00.

The dedication and commitment that he has shown since he joined the station afforded him the nomination as a best community radio DJ on the Satmas that will be held in the Eastern Cape next month.

“Just being nominated in the category of the best community radio station DJ, means a lot to me and I am also humbled to learn that I’m the only one who’s been nominated in that category representing all community radio stations in Mpumalanga and I’m hoping to bring the trophy to the province,” he said.

In order for Nkosi to make his wish a reality, he really needs citizens of the province to support him in his journey by voting for him : SMS – Satma – Daniel – Best Community Radio DJ to 34066.
