Paintsil set to sign for Chippa

Ghanaian defender John Paintsil looks set to sign a deal with promoted PSL side Chippa United after leaving second-tier club Santos.

The 33-year-old veteran is training with the Chilli Boys and a deal has reportedly been agreed, though Chippa CEO Peter Koutrolis is yet to confirm the deal.
However, KickOff.com quotes a source claiming that Paintsil, with 88 caps for the Black Stars, is definitely signing with Chippa.

“I was there yesterday and he was already training with the team. I’m told they are signing him. As you also have been reporting, there are also players like Tshepo Motsoeneng, Aleni Lebyane and Mbuyiselo Sambu trying their luck,” he says.

The Chilli Boys have also signed Veli Motha from Baroka, David Zulu from Black Leopards, George Akpabio from Ajax Cape Town, Mpho Mvelase from United FC and Zimbabwean defender Eric Chipeta.
