Keshi hints at Bafana arrival

Nigeria head coach, Stephen Keshi, has added fuel to the flames that have linked him to the head coach duties with Bafana Bafana by claiming he is unsure where his future will be.

The Super Eagles were eliminated from the FIFA World Cup when they fell to a late 2-0 defeat to France on Monday evening.

Keshi has been repeatedly linked with the possibility of taking over from Gordon Igesund, with a Nigerian newspaper claiming he had agreed a two-year contract with the South Africa Football Association (SAFA).

“I don’t know if I will stay,” the ‘Big Boss’ Keshi answered when asked about his immediate future. “It’s a pity we lost. We did not deserve to lose,” he said of the 2-0 defeat at the hands of France.

“We can compete with any team (in the world). It was a good performance, but the way we lost was not good.

“There have been improvements, players are very young and in two years, this group will be a wonderful.”

The 52-year-old coach led Nigeria to a third Africa Cup of Nations triumph last year before he saw them qualify for a fifth World Cup.
