Bloem Celtic deny selling

There have been several rumours of Boemfontein Celtic selling up and going into new ownership, but the club have once again denied reports that the club is in the process of being sold.

Talk emerged earlier this year that former Ajax Cape Town director John Comitis could be in the mix for a takeover at Celtic, but the club and Comitis denied this on African Football website.

Since then, there have also been reports on Kick Off that Celtic are to be sold. But, Celtic spokesperson Sello Nduna says the fans are unsettled about the rumour.

“The supporters both in and outside Bloemfontein have been calling to find out what’s going on and the answer remains the same. It is business as usual at Bloemfontein Celtic and the players have reported for training, so we are preparing for the season,” Nduno says.

Kick Off maintain that there is a strong possibility of a sale, however, and believe that Max Tshabalala [of Roses United] is looking to buy the club for about R60 million.

“No, no, no. You are not the first person to call me about this… This [claim] is not a fact. Maybe people would wish that I buy the club, but that’s not true,” Tshabalala told Kick Off.
