Pollard to start for Boks 

IRB Junior World  Player of the Year Handre Pollard is set to win his Springbok debut when he starts at flyhalf in the one-off Test against Scotland in Port Elizabeth on Saturday. 

Pollard, who recently captained the Baby Boks to second place at the Junior World Cup in New Zealand, is one of five uncapped players in the 23-man squad.

Heyneke Meyer named four other uncapped players in the matchday squad, with prop Marcel van der Merwe, lock Stephan Lewies, loose forward Teboho Mohoje and flyhalf Marnitz Boshoff all included on the bench.

Lwazi Mvovo, flanker Schalk Burger, lock Lood de Jager and prop Coenie Oosthuizen are the other changes to the starting XV that edged Wales 31-30 in Nelspruit last week.

The injured Tendai Mtawarira (neck), Flip van der Merwe (knee) Willem Alberts (concussion) and Johan Goosen (knee) were not considered for this weekend’s clash.

Gurthro Steenkamp (prop), Schalk Brits (hooker), Bakkies Botha (lock), Francois Louw (flank), Morne Steyn (flyhalf), Wynand Olivier (centre) and Bryan Habana (wing) have all been sent back to Europe after having done their duty for the Boks.
