Teams battle at Msogwaba

This came ahead of local soccer team, Emhlangeni FC, emerged as victors from the Easter Soccer Games.

Local soccer team, Emhlangeni FC, emerged as victors from the Easter Soccer Games held at Msogwaba Stadium.

The team played to a draw against Jabulane Bar FC which resulted in the them facing off in penalties where Emhlangeni FC won 4-3.

This also saw Top Star FC battling it out with local radio station’s soccer team, Kasie FM after thrashing them 3-2.

Emhlangeni’s players who displayed great skills and flair, educated Top Star FC about the basics of the game after beating them 2-0.

According to team captain, Sibusiso Chiloane, the victory come from teamwork and dedication to the game.

“If it wasn’t for the teamwork and the fitness, we would be talking a different language on the soccer pitch which would have cost us.”

Meanwhile, Gauteng-based team, Dawn Park Masters, displayed real sportsmanship after Thabo Mokoena scored a hat-trick during a match against Spy DJs FC.

Speaking ahead of the game, coach Buti Makua indicated that his team was well prepared.

“We are going to take the first place and that is the only reason we came all the way from Johannesburg,” Makua said.
