Capacity crowds to watch last games

According to the stadium's Mthuthuzeli Xamba, they expect a good turnout for the two final games of the season.

Even though the Mbombela Stadium will not host the much-anticipated Nedbank Cup semi-final clash between Kaizer Chiefs and Bidvest Wits, the city will still get to host two more big games before the PSL 2013/14 season winds up.

On Tuesday May 6 the University of Pretoria (Tuks FC) will bring their fight against relegation here in a tough date against Kaizer Chiefs, who are fighting to retain their PSL championship title.

The last game of the season will be between the home team, Mpumalanga Black Aces who are aiming for a spot in the top eight, against the same relegation-threatened Tuks FC on Saturday May 10.

After the successful hosting of the Telkom Knockout finals, this stadium may get another chance of hosting yet another cup final after the stadium management submitted a bid to host the Nedbank Cup final scheduled for next month.

According to the stadium’s Mthuthuzeli Xamba, they expect a good turnout for the two final games of the season.

“These are our final games and so we expect a full house for the Tuks versus Chiefs game and we are hoping that the Aces and Tuks match will attract more supporters than we have seen in the past games. We would like to urge all our soccer supporters to buy tickets as soon as they are available,” he said.

Tuks, who are currently in position 12 with only two games remaining, will hope to continue their unbeaten streak here, since they have a good track-record, having beaten both Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates during a league clash at the same venue.
