South Africa’s favourite cousin – due to his famous phrase “Ma cousin”- Barry Hilton, is set to return to the Lowveld with a bang. Comedy aficionados brace yourselves for the unstoppable, elastic-faced Hilton as he will entertain us with his one-man show, The way I see It , on March 28.
Based on locals’ response to his hilarious Barry Hilton BEE Show in 2013, Emnotweni Casino is anticipating a sell-out event.
This will be Hilton’s first-ever performance at the exquisite Arena, which was officially opened in December last year.
It will also be his first show on SA soil after a stint on an international cruise liner.
“If his rubber-like facial expressions don’t have you rolling on the floor laughing, then his hysterical observations of everyday situations definitely will. Don’t miss this show. It’s bound to be hilariously funny,” said Ig Olivier, director of operations and complex general manager at Emnotweni Casino.
The Way I See It gives audiences a peek inside the goings-on in his quirky head.
Hilton has a delightful knack for finding the ludicrous and humorous in daily situations, turning what seems perfectly normal on its head to make us laugh at life.
His shows are unscripted, bursting with an electrifying mix match of content. Lively retellings of recent observations and experiences together with the finest selection of older fan favourites and brand-new material keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
“Travelling so extensively gives me heaps of new material and makes me focus on making my material accessible to as many people as possible,” said Hilton.
When performing in South Africa, his shows have a strong local flavour but when working internationally, his content is universal and involves a lot of physical comedy that is easy to relate to.
Tickets cost R100 per person and are available from customer service at the casino. The show starts at 19:30 but doors will open at 19:00.
